In an ideal world, effective teaching and committed learners would mean that intervention was not necessary. If only!
A Whatever It Takes Culture requires carefully targeted interventions that work. Having said that, there’s lots of controversy out there about what actually works and how we know. ‘Disappointed Idealist’ puts it best when he blogs that education is “a series of complex human interactions which, along with unknowable numbers of other inputs, combine to create outcomes which are not necessarily either predictable or repeatable.”
